I wasn’t a big fan of director Paolo Sorrentino’s last film, the Oscar (best foreign film) winner, The Great Beauty, but my interest for this one was the two leads, Michael Caine and Harvey Keitel, who spend their time talking about the meaning of life, aging, beauty, etc. at a ritzy spa in the Swiss Alps.  They were very good (no surprise there), but you have to appreciate the good moments of the movie while enduring some pretentious sequences.  Not a Hollywood feeling screen experience, that’s for sure.
