A charming and sweet, but relatively complicated fictional story (based on a book of the same name) — director Todd Haynes is not known for straightforward stories — of two kids, born 50 years apart (1927 and 1977), who run away from their respective homes to search for something/someone missing from their lives. The symmetry of their stories extends into all aspects of the plot. Impressive acting by the young and the older alike.
