The critics seem to have been a lot more impressed than I was with this quiet French Canadian film about a 22-year-old woman who, not quite sure of her place in this world or of her direction in life, just wants to chill out one summer with her best friend, but instead finds her friendship tested by the arrival at her house of her brother and his band. Yep, that’s really the whole story. One standout is the character of a 10-year-old boy with the deep voice and wisdom of someone much older and wiser, who has taken a shine to our heroine. Enjoyable in parts, but didn’t quite hold my interest. (Subtitled.)
