Transit

  • Post category:.

Transit in this film refers to the lives of emigrants and refugees in an imagined contemporary France who are escaping contemporary fascism, fast encroaching across Europe — and soon to reach the land they find themselves in now.  Our protagonist, a technician from Germany, has acquired the identity papers of a deceased writer and is attempting to sail to the US and then to Mexico, but is slowed down as he meets others looking, as he is, to escape.  Political and human drama, done with feeling and intelligence.
