Based on a book by the first wife of famous physicist Stephen Hawking of their time together from their courtship at Cambridge, through the raising of three children and the couple’s divorce. This is not a film about the physics that Hawking’s life is devoted to but a story about love, struggle, overcoming incredible odds, etc. Relatively predictable and conventional, it’s still an enjoyable film and lead actor Eddie Redmayne’s performance alone is worth the price of admission. (Felicity Jones as Jane Hawking is very good as well.)
