The square refers to an art installation — basically just some boundaries for that shape — placed in front of a Swedish modern art museum that is to serve as a “safe space.” In the very different and weird world of the people running this museum, safe is not a description of the events that go on in the museum and with the characters who inhabit this story, brought to you by the director of “Force Majeure” — an excellent film which I’ve previously written about. The mocking of these fictional characters is a bit too obvious for my taste, and at 2 hrs and 20 minutes, the film is about 45 minutes too long. (Subtitles.)
