Susan Sarandon is a joy to watch as she plays, yes, a meddling mom who moves from New Jersey to L.A. to be closer to her emotionally confused daughter (Rose Byrne) in L.A. — although this was not something daughter wanted, of course. Other than Ms. Sarandon’s performance, the rest of the movie is just ok, nothing special.
