A black-and-white film about two men sent to maintain a remote island lighthouse, somewhere in New England in the waning years of the 19th century. Does that sort of movie sound intriguing to you? I confess I wasn’t greatly engaged watching it, but I kept watching for the intense (and occasionally over-the-top) acting of William Defoe and Robert Pattison. Even so I decided I’d had enough after only 2/3 of the film, so I left the cinema. Feel free to let me know how it ends. .
