Quirky (I think the critics have been using the word “offbeat”), funny, sweet and very enjoyable, this film from New Zealand about a young teenage boy from the city sent to foster care with a rural couple is probably my favourite for the last few months. Great performances all around, especially the young lead. Just when there is the potential for things turning maudlin, this movie will surprise and (hopefully) delight you.
