This charming and sweet fable — a family of talented cooks fleeing violence in India lands in a lovely French village and establishes the first Indian restaurant the village has seen, 100 feet across the road from a long-standing Michelin starred restaurant (run by the always superb Helen Mirren). You can imagine what happens next, but the characters and writing make this an enjoyable journey to take.
