Before reading about this documentary, I was unfamiliar with African American Andre Leon Talley — now almost 70 years old — and his remarkable journey from the racism of the segregated North Carolina to the heights of the international fashion scene, including working with Anna Wintour at Vogue. Big, brash, opinionated, talented and gay (and a French literature student at university), Andre has worked hard to champion to black fashion artists and link fashion and history and literature. Interesting life.
