John C. Reily and Steve Coogan work well together to capture a difficult time during the latter days — 1950s — of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy’s professional and personal relationship. Once a global comedy duo powerhouse, the story here begins as they are on a tour of Britain trying desperately to rebuild their brand and fill theatres nowhere near the size they used to. A sweet and a bit sad tale, decently told.
