Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin are back as a team in this sequel to Sicario (2015), but without star Emily Blunt and with a new director. This tale is even more brutal than the original, and less plausible, but still effective, even with too many sub-plots, and makes you feel on the ground with some very dangerous characters. The story is still about the scourge of drugs, but this time terrorism is thrown into the mix. If you appreciated the original, you’ll likely appreciate the sequel; however, if you didn’t see the original, I’m not sure what you’ll think of this one.
