Paterson

Adam Driver does a good job of being a public bus driver and poet named Paterson in Paterson, New Jersey, who does not do much more than observe his riders (on the same transit route he takes every day), the folks at his neighbourhood bar that he visits nightly, and his wife, and then write down his thoughts as poems in a notebook he carries with him.  That’s about it, folks. I doubt director Jim Jarmusch would be expecting this very observational film to be box office gold — I don’t think it lasted too long in the theatres — but it’s a nice, quiet change from the noise of most every other film at the multiplex.  I enjoyed it, for the most part, but it’s definitely not for everyone. Don’t see it if you are not feeling patient.
