I’ve heard that the original Korean film (of the same name) was impressive, but I haven’t seen that one.  The American remake that I did see was, in my opinion, surprisingly for a Spike Lee film, and a waste of time.  The story — a man kidnapped and held in confinement for 20 years, by persons and for reasons unknown, is released, and is out for revenge (you would be too, yes?) — got me into the cinema, but I don’t recommend the same for you.
