Apparently this film was the 10th highest grossing film coming out of Nollywood (a.k.a. the Nigerian film industry, centred in Lagos) in the last year or so. I found this tale of a small town mechanic who comes to the big city to drive a cab and crosses path with the mob to be of interest mainly for the glimpses of the hustle and bustle of Lagos, although it’s shot mostly at night. (The director said he couldn’t film during the day because the traffic in that city is too tough to work around.) The subtitles are in pidgin English, which I found challenging to keep up with. (Seen at TIFF.)
