Richard Gere is very good as a sad-sack, almost Willy Loman-ish, NYC fixer, who seems to be in permanent motion trying to connect important people to other important people, even if he lies in order to make those connections happen. His primary connection in this film is to an up-and-coming Israeli politician that he meets in NYC. Sit back and watch how that connection turns out for all parties. Good supporting cast (including Steve Buscemi — as a rabbi, no less — and Michael Sheen), but the movie belongs to Gere.
