A blatant rip-off of the Jason Bourne movie franchise, although significantly less impressive (more clichés, rampant ridiculous dialogue, periods of extreme instances of nonsensical plot), this tale follows a highly-trained stealth CIA operator (of a unit — headed by the always entertaining John Malkovich — the U.S. government will not admit to any connection with, or knowledge of), played by the dependable Mark Wahlberg, on a mission in an unnamed South-East Asian nation (which looks very much like Indonesia). The mission is to transport a human asset with (of course) vital information 22 miles from the U.S. embassy to a nearby airport. Surprisingly, this flick is entertaining, in a turn-your-mind-off kind of way, with some well-executed action scenes. Lots of things and people go boom, as you would expect. It will likely do better business once it leaves the theatres for the world of small screens.
