Midnight’s Children

I haven’t read Salman Rushdie’s Booker Prize-winning novel upon which this movie is based (he also wrote the screenplay for this film), but I can appreciate how challenging it must have been to bring this story, which spans 60-years, includes many characters and takes place in several countries, to life on the screen.  The tale of the fate of two infants in India, switched by a nurse at birth, each born at the exact moment of India’s independence, it plays with magic realism.  The cast is very good and the story is worth the effort (over about 2.5 hours).
