(From 2008) Inspired by the true tale of the bank French 1960s and 70s bank robber and prison escapee Jacques Mesrine. The always engrossing Vincent Cassel plays the lead very well, taking the viewer from France to Quebec, always living dangerously — his performance makes you believe the character really was public enemy #1 at the time. (There is a part 2 to this movie, Public Enemy #1, but I thought this follow-up was much weaker than Part 1.)
