Fascinating documentary about the art and life of the late, great Greek-American, world renowned opera singer Maria Callas (who left this world too young in the late 1970s, at the age of 53), told in her own words via television interview recordings, her own letters and unpublished writing, etc. This very affectionate film covers Callas’s life, from her childhood to her death — her love affairs, depressions, heartbreaks as well as the joyous times, and her complicated relationship with the press; she was one hell of an impressive artist and woman. To hear her sing is to be exposed to pure talent.
