I didn’t know much about the life of this wonderful and hugely talented singer, other than the music I listened to growing up, but I was in awe of the talent and humanity on display in this moving, sympathetic documentary about her life. A woman in a very male-dominated business, Ronstadt sang everything from light opera to gospel to rock, and moved her audiences to her beat to become one of the most successful recording artists ever. See this film and you’ll understand why. Ronstadt, in her 70s now, has been robbed of much of her voice by Parkinson’s Disease, but what a life lived.
