Although I enjoy Janis Joplin’s music, I didn’t know much about her until I saw this interesting and touching documentary about her rise to fame and her sad decline and death. Particularly good is the archival footage of her in concert as well as listening to a friend reading from a selection of the many letters she wrote over the years to her parents.
