Based on Stephen King’s movie of the same name, this film would definitely not be approved by the trade organization, American Clown Association, if such an organization existed. Evil clowns abound, stealing children, on a regular basis, from small town Maine, with the time of this story being the late 1980s. The young actors portraying the kids who band together to confront the evil in their midst are quite good, and there are a few true scares throughout the film, but after 2-plus hours, it was more than enough. A decent film, but nothing too special. (I hear the book was much more effective.)
