Mark Ruffalo makes this film work as he plays a bi-polar dad struggling to keep his equilibrium while taking care of his two kids when his estranged wife goes back to school in another city. Even when Ruffalo’s character loses control, the film does not lose its balance. Sounds depressing, but it’s not.
