Diane Kruger is amazing (she won the best actress prize at Cannes for this role) as a German woman trying to cope with the death of her husband and young son in a bombing in Hamburg. Every emotion she experiences is conveyed powerfully on the screen, whether she’s at the scene of the bombing, at the trial of the accused bombers, or contemplating revenge. This is her film — she’s in almost every scene — and it is an impressive one at that. (Subtitles.)
