A powerful and frightening documentary look at how an advocate for women’s rights — nicknamed Hooligan Sparrow (actual name Ye Haiyan) — and her associates in China are hounded, arrested, and assaulted by state security officials for publicising how some school officials used young girls as sexual bribes to government officials. With only a personal camera and her voice, Hooligan Sparrow brings attention to the injustices that the most vulnerable woman in Chinese society suffer, and risks her life (and the lives of those working with her) in the process.
