I’m a fan of Will Smith, but neither he nor his computer-generated younger self can save the viewing audience from boredom. Smith plays a very talented government assassin whose plans to retire to a quiet life are, of course, not to be. Wouldn’t you know it, someone’s on his tail. Several impressive chase and fight scenes, some beautiful locales, even a fine turn by Clive Owen as the villain, are not enough to make this a worthwhile trip to the cinema. Though I’m also a fan of director Ang Lee, this definitely isn’t one of his best.
