An intriguing but relatively superficial — and very unsubtle — look at what happens when a poet who has just become a Nobel Laureate and who enjoys a privileged life in a lovely Tuscan town decides to say something very offensive to a great many folks. Every theme covered here — xenophobia, class division, economic inequality, etc. — is handled in an in-your-face way. That’s too bad, because there is a very good and important story to tell about what we take for granted and the sorts of people we ignore. On the plus side, the acting is good and the scenery is beautiful. (Subtitles.)
