Jake Gyllenhaal is impressive as a man losing his grip in the aftermath of a car accident that takes his wife’s life — but his grip slips not for the reason you would likely assume. Naomi Watts and Chris Cooper do good work as supporting players. A bit grim but I did not find it depressing.
