Two high school freshman (engagingly played by Beanie Feldstein and Kaitly Dever) discover that while they’ve focussed all of their attention on getting the excellent grades necessary to get into top colleges, their partying classmates also have managed, somehow, to have their pick of post-secondary schools. So, how to make up for lost partying time? Well, party to the max for the one night remaining until graduation day, of course! While many critics have been gushing over this film, I didn’t see much new or fresh about it, and while the acting was fine, the stereotypical characters didn’t seem to me to offer much that was materially different than in other films in this genre (other than this one being told through the eyes of female leads).
