Rami Malek is superb as Freddy Mercury, the leader of the classic rock band Queen, in this superficial and cliché-rich but quite entertaining biopic that stretches from the band’s first gigs to Freddy’s death. Malek’s Freddy is a wounded soul whose sadness contributed to producing some wonderful music. The concert scenes are wonderfully done.
