Based on a true story, Bradley Cooper is fine (both as an actor and, I’m told, as a body muscled up for this film) as the U.S. Armed Forces’ most lethal sniper in history, although we don’t travel too deeply into his character. The film is effective in its battle scenes in Iraq — however, don’t expect the story to create real persons out of the Iraqis we see — and in making the 2-plus hours go by quickly. Enjoyable for what it is — a very pro-American story of war.
