(Also streaming on Netflix.) An excellent documentary about the nature of work and workers, the clash of cultures and an economy that doesn’t offer what many people want or need. We are taken on a very, very inside look at what happened when a Chinese auto glass company took over a shuttered GM plant in Dayton, Ohio, hired a whole bunch of laid-off GM works, overseen by a management team mostly brought over from China. Directors Julia Reichert and Steven Bognar provide us with amazing behind-the-scenes footage from all sides — workers, management and union organizers. From a new beginning to heartache, this is a story that deserves to be heard.
