Anna Kendrick (entertaining as always) and Blake Lively (terrific in this role) are the two reasons to stick with this unevenly entertaining film about a single mom (Kendrick), known mainly for her baking tips to moms via video blogging, who leads a hunt for what happened to her new best friend (also a mom) who has disappeared, leaving her kid with Kendrick. A bit slow in the first 1/3 or so, but the story picks up nicely in the second half. Some good jabs at contemporary (and rich) American society, some effective noir-ish touches.
