It’s an effective fable, fantasy, horror story and a very gritty reminder of the toll taken on children in Mexico due to the drug wars. We travel with orphaned street children, in an unnamed Mexican city, who have witnessed death and experienced loss, and who are pursued by ghosts. There are very few, if any, moments of happiness in this tale. (Subtitles.)
