Western Stars

Instead of touring for his new album Western Stars, Bruce Springsteen gathers a 30-piece orchestra in the loft of his 100-year-old barn, invites a few friends to sit at bar tables, and over two days films a lovely and intimate concert of all of the album’s songs, covering life’s regrets, loss and pain.  I grew a bit tired of the interludes between songs, which feature Bruce driving his old car in the desert and of old home videos he narrates.  There were some nice moments and memories in these interludes, but I really wanted to get back to the concert. For Bruce fans.
