Terrence Mallick’s overly long and a bit pretentious in parts, this grand tale of life plays very well when it shows a slice of time in small town Texas. Big names: Brad Pitt, Sean Penn (in a role I didn’t quite understand). People seem to either quite like the film or don’t like it — no middle ground. The kids in this pic really make it shine. I was captivated by the performances more than the film.
