A German film (yes, subtitled) set in East Germany in the 1980’s, it does a good job of showing the paranoia that governed life under the communist regime through the eyes of a female doctor banished from the big city to the hinterland for the grave offense of applying for a visa to leave her country. Slow moving film but good storytelling.
