A tale of two female ex-cons trying to make a new life for themselves in the backwoods of Quebec; the story starts quietly and then progressively (and effectively) becomes menacing. This flick won a major prize (Silver Bear) in Berlin’s 2013 film fest, and I can see why —it’s haunting, puzzling, and will leave you wondering if escape from the past is every possible.
