The premise is, of course, ridiculous: a 40 or so-old man enters, through a legal loophole, a children’s spelling bee competition (for reasons you won’t be told until the end of the film). While the critics generally gave this film poor reviews, I quite enjoyed Jason Bateman’s performance as a seemingly vain, and (sometimes hilariously) profane man. The language may make some viewers uncomfortable, but don’t take it seriously. Decent fun.
