Wonderful storytelling, interesting characters, and the fascinating perspective of watching a child — the focus of the story — grow into a young man over the 12 years this movie was filmed.  (The adults, played by Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette were very good, too.) One of my favourite films of the last few years, its 2.5 hours zipped by.  Highly, highly recommended.
