An intriguing, tense, slow but effective film from Romania that follows a middle-aged family man as he hears, from outside a door in his apartment building, an argument between a man or a woman that may have something to do with her death shortly thereafter (although the police aren’t saying if there was foul play). Should he mind his own business or tell the cops what he thinks he heard? But what if the man he believes perhaps had a hand in the murder (if it was a murder) begins to get close to his own family – what should he do then? Many questions in this story but few answers. Very good acting. (Subtitles.)
