I would recommend this film only to hard core fans of writer/director Todd Solondz (Welcome to the Dollhouse; Happiness) as this is one dark and bizarre story. We follow a dachshund as it is passed over the years from oddball owner to even more oddball owner. Greta Gerwig plays a vet who sets out to save the dog; her time is followed by cameos from actors such as Danny Devito and Ellen Burstyn. No one is happy (and no one expects to ever be happy). Not for those looking for an upbeat story.
