Fun idea — father raising his large brood somewhere in the forests of the US West coast without much outside influence or distraction and because of the mother’s death, they must all travel into the world they have (or rather, the father has) forsaken. However, I found the challenges faced by the family when they leave their paradise to be more or less predictable and not that interesting. Viggo Mortensen, playing the father, is good, as usual, and brings a gripping intensity to the proceedings.
