Thomas Vinterberg (who directed the excellent films The Celebration, and The Hunt) drew on his experience as a child living in an urban commune in early 1970s Copenhagen to place a number of eccentric characters together in a big house, circa early 1970s Copenhagen, and let them try to figure out how to live together. Great dialogue, interesting characters, and impressive acting makes for a powerful look at how the desire to create a new type of person can conflict with human nature. (Subtitled. Seen at TIFF.)
