Based on a true story (based on a book of the same name), set on both sides of the 20th century, of British explorers heading down to the Amazon of the Bolivia/Peru to search for signs of an advanced civilization. Of course, the Brits weren’t partial to the idea that any civilization could have been at least as advanced as theirs, so you can imagine the challenges facing the explorers upon their return. I found the story more interesting than the film, and at more than two hours, it did drag in places. But a story worth hearing about.
