Dunkirk

This take on Britain’s (including many civilians) rescue of hundreds of thousands of British and French troops from the beaches of Dunkirk in 1940 deserves to be seen on the big screen — I saw it in IMAX glory.  This is an epic story and it gets an epic treatment, although this is not a typical war story:  limited dialogue, action that swells and ebbs, with little back story or detours into the lives of any of the soldiers shown on screen or and no political context.
