When an up-and-coming US rodeo star — whose life, and the life of his family and friends — revolves around the rodeo suffers a serious (head) injury during a competition, he is forced to reevaluate his life plan. This is a bleak story, set on the plains of South Dakota, and based on the lead actor’s life (an impressive Brady Jandreau in his first screen role; a number of supporting characters are played by Jandreau’s family and friends) that manages to find scraps of inspiration in a human struggle. A very slow burning, low budget film that leaves a mark.
