John Krasinski directed (and co-wrote) this thriller/horror story about a family (actual husband and wife team of Krasinski and Emily Blunt, plus two cute kids, one of which is deaf in real life) who must survive in a post apocalyptic world — the reason for the destruction is not really clear — where alien creatures attack any human that makes a sound. In this story screaming in fear will get its characters killed — the creativity here comes from how this family must adapt to survive in almost total silence. Whether you enjoy this film or not will likely come down to how much melodrama you are willing to accept.
